The principle of rejecting violence against civilians should not need to be stated. However, there has been some questionable prevarication from parts of the left. But Fanon was clear to distinguish between revolutionary violence, which was a conscious and strategic act aimed at dismantling the repressive apparatus of the colonial system, and reactive or spontaneous violence, which was a more immediate and emotional response to the oppressor, governed by the logic of vengeance. And, it is unclear whether these attacks were by design in the first place.
In consequence, Yasser and his movement could gain "valuable political capital" as defenders of Yarmouk which is of great symbolic importance to the Palestinian diaspora , while Fatah al-Intifada got much-needed funds. Israel has over the years systematically taken land belonging to the Palestinians claiming it for itself, often backing up that claim with bullets and bombs. Israel is being supported by the UK and the USA and any country standing against the Israeli occupation is quickly forced into submission by the military threat that these two nuclear powers pose.
Forcing people out of their homes, killing women and children, shooting unarmed civilians, labelling a nation as terrorists to justify genocide, silencing the press to cover up crimes against humanity, these are just a few of the many atrocities being committed against the people of Palestine by the Israeli government and anyone who speaks out against Israel are labelled as anti-semitic.
