В пограничном состоянии главного героя нервно пульсирует жилка грядущего непредсказуемого перевоплощения. Именно она - эта самая "жилка" - выстраивает всю картину, держит зрителя в перманентном напряжении и создаёт гипнотическую харизму фильма.
Эта "жилка" и есть главное в игре Кейтеля.
