Клубы смирились с тем, что россияне будут приезжать в Северную Америку, но некоторых придётся подождать. Поэтому лучше потратить свой пик на одного молодого талантливого парня сейчас, чем потом кусать локти, когда кто-то подпишет соглашение с новым Артемием Панариным, как сделало «Чикаго» два года назад.
Вопреки всем инсайдерам, отправлявшим форварда то в «Сан-Хосе» 4-й драфт-пик , то к «столичным». Про интерес со стороны «Флайерз» вообще разговоров не шло. Similar to Patrick and Vilardi, Glass is another big, talented Canadian centreman whose future is hard to project given his injury history. However, he has shown improvement at the pro level and he is too talented not to make the NHL. When the opposition inevitably closes in on him, he can also make space for himself with his creativity. He is a fluid skater, so he generates a lot of offense on the rush and he is effective on the powerplay. Despite having the fourth-most games played out of this class, the upside of the players above him is higher. Rather than trying to rush the puck every time, he identifies when he can burn the defender and when to make a play. He is also getting better at producing from a standstill and could play on the powerplay in the NHL. He is an elite skater who is incredibly poised with the puck on his stick. The analytics rate him highly due to his efficiency at carrying the puck, but he will need to start using his standout puck skills to create offense to justify this ranking. This season he has thrived in an increased role. Marie Greyhounds, but he still projects as a top-six offensive talent in the NHL. He then exploded the next year and was one of the best players in the league and for Team Canada as they won gold at the World Juniors. His size and skill have turned him into a menace at the AHL level.

Golden Knights among winners, Rangers among losers from the 2017 draft weekend
Что вышло на драфте? Сам швейцарец в первый год выглядел очень уверено, учитывая свой юный возраст. Сейчас у Хишира есть все задатки, чтобы стать отличным двусторонним центром. Finally, he capped everything off by claiming the 2022 Stanley Cup and winning the Conn Smythe Award. Needless to say, this pick will be a defining moment for the Avalanche over the next decade-plus. Somehow, by falling down the draft board, Colorado were able to still claim the best player of the 2022 Draft. Elias Pettersson — Vancouver Canucks Despite having the second-best odds to win the draft lottery, the Vancouver Canucks fell all the way back to fifth, putting them in that awkward spot where they would miss out on the perceived top talents but still should be able to select an impactful player. As they took the stage to make the fifth-overall selection, however, few were ready for what they were about to announce. The Canucks seemingly reached and selected forward Elias Pettersson, who divided the experts. Some havd him ranked in the top ten while others saw him as a late-first rounder at best.
Once Pettersson took the ice for the Canucks, he left any of his doubters behind. He set the standard throughout his rookie season in 2018-19, posting 28 goals and 66 points en route to winning the Calder Trophy despite only playing in 71 games. Elias Pettersson has brought superstar offensive talent to the Vancouver Canucks.
Miro would go on to finish fourth in Calder voting that season behind eventual Calder Memorial winner Elias Petterson, 2019 Stanley Cup winner Jordon Binnington, and 2018 first overall pick Rasmus Dahlin. In 150 career NHL games, Heiskanen as amassed 20 goals and 68 points in 150 regular season games played and will be a stalwart on the Dallas blue line for many years to come.
Out of the top five players selected in this draft, Makar was the only one who played NCAA where he tallied 21 goals and 70 points in 75 games played for the University of Massachusetts. Makar also led his team in scoring as a defenseman in 2018-19 and would go on to win the Hobey Baker award, the first in the history for the school. Makar had a more than unique breakout with the Avs as he was called up to play for the team in the 2018-19 playoffs, where he adapted almost immediately, registering a goal and six points in 10 playoff games, cementing himself undoubtedly into the Avalanche roster for years to come. This season for Colorado, Makar was arguably the top candidate for the Calder Memorial Trophy, having racked up 12 goals and 50 points in just 57 games played.

A third option emerged for New Jersey this spring at the U18 WJC where defenceman Miro Heiskanen turned in a commanding performance for Finland and effectively threw his hat into the ring.
Heiskanen would be the first Finnish-born player to go first overall. Gabriel Vilardi of the Windsor Spitfires. An NHL career is made every single day of a young players life, and the path is never the same for any pair of picks. Many of these players will take well over a season to gain the skills necessary to even come close to an NHL spot, and the level of skill development necessary can be enormous.
The NHL Draft to me is about drafting the rarest high-level skillsets you can find, especially up high, and to swing for the fences on someone you really like in the late rounds, or go after a goalie or two who can stop a puck.
