Хотя большинство астрологов считают термин "предсказание" не корректным, так как современная астрология не претендует, непосредственно предсказывать будущие события в жизни человека. А лишь указывает на потенциал который показан в натальной карте , и возможность для развития как благоприятных, так и неблагоприятных обстоятельств. В тоже время выбор свободной воли, играет ключевую роль, на пути по которому пошел человек.

Сегодня астрологи пользуются более современными таблицами, созданными в JPL. В эфемеридах планет содержатся положения небесных тел, рассчитанные на много лет вперед. В этих таблицах можно найти информацию о видимых позициях планет, которые вычисляют при помощи компьютера на основании законов механики космоса. Положения указываются с конкретным шагом — он обозначает отрезок времени между двумя связанными мгновениями, на которые производится вычисление. На практике самыми удобными себя показали следующие таблицы с шагом в одни сутки: Американская таблица эфемерид Михельсона на XXI век, а именно на 2001 — 2050 год, и на XX век, где указаны места нахождения планет в 1900 — 2000 году. Розенкрейцеровские эфемериды, рассчитанные на весь XX век. Таблицы Рафаэля, содержащие в себе позиции небесных тел на каждый год. Стоит оговориться, что в эфемеридах Михельсона положения рассчитаны на гринвичскую полночь каждых суток, а вся информация представлена по месяцам. На каждой странице указаны величины долготы планет на два месяца в виде пары блоков, что обозначается как «Longitude».
