На каких-то выходных они собираются своей Гейской Четвёркой — как окрестили их компашку Матсун и Ханамаки, — и они честно обещают друг другу не пить, но они всего лишь подростки, мечтающие жить в американском фильме, а потому ночёвка, обещающая быть просмотром фильмов с миской попкорна превращается в непонятную ересь. Они кричат, смеются, танцуют под какую-то попсу, а заканчивают слезами и звёздным небом. Родители Ойкавы приезжают лишь вечером воскресенья — если рейс снова не перенесут, — но тот с самого пробуждения мучает их уборкой, затянувшейся как раз до самого вечера, потому что они глупые и весёлые.
Родители возвращаются всё же вечером: мама кидает хитрый взгляд на сына, на его друзей и слишком чистый дом, а отец лишь прищурив взгляд оглядывает Ханамаки и Матсукаву, хмыкает и уходит в комнату. Очередной пролетевший день чуть ли не в пустую, про уроки Ойкава вспоминает лишь после полуночи и, подорвавшись с футона, бежит к тетрадям и учебникам — завтра какой-то очень важный тест, и он ни за что не простит себя если напишет не на высший балл. Иногда он задумывался, откуда же эта жажда быть во всем лучшим — так и углубился в психологию.
Прочитал множество научных книжек и различных статей — сам с себя испугался, ведь столько времени он и на документалки про инопланетян не тратил, — и стал копаться в самом себе, но теперь более профессионально. В итоге от самого себя стало лишь более противно. Эта затея отошла далеко на второй план — зато очень помогла в поддержании боевого духа команды.
Любит он всё же копаться в чужих головах, а в своей не выходит, сколько бы он не пробовал.
