The second example shows a retaining wall. The toposolid can be cut vertically on the back face of the wall which makes editing the toposolid very simple. If desired, cut and fill can also be calculated with a toposurface by using graded regions. Sheet, Revision and View updates Building on the updates from the previous releases, Autodesk are making working with sheets a little easier. In Revit 2024 we can now move views between sheets and keep alignments and positions. The best feature is being able to add a revision to multiple sheets.
Multiple views can now be moved to other sheets either by selecting the views or simply dragging and dropping from the project browser. Revision clouds can now be scheduled which, again, has been a long-standing request from users. The revision schedule can be created in a similar way to any other schedule. However, we now can schedule fields from the Revision, Sheet, View and the Project Information which is useful when issuing sheets. Structural Updates As in the previous release, the focus remains on the workflows and toolsets with the analytical modeling process. Also, we see some strengthening of the reinforcement tools with the addition of bending details and alignment control when using freeform rebar.
I will also look at the update from Revit 2023. Loads have been overhauled and the older non hosted loads have been replaced with parametric, intelligent Point, Line and Area loads. This was mainly because it needed more options and capabilities in other system families. However, with the release of Revit 2024, a new feature called Toposolids, which harnesses all the capabilities of a system family, has been introduced. Toposolids can now have layers with thickness and materials similar to other system families. Currently, voids can be used to cut out sections of Toposolids.
However, a more efficient tool is expected to be developed to handle cuts in Toposolids. Families can now be hosted on Toposolids, including floor-based families and railings, which can be helpful in various projects. Our team is eagerly waiting for this feature to be fully developed.
By holding down the CTRL key, choose the necessary views, including model views, schedules, legends, and drafting views, then drag them onto a sheet. Alternatively, utilize the Add Views to Sheet tool in the View ribbon tab, select multiple views, click OK, and promptly place them on the sheet. While not headline-worthy, this feature is a time-saving convenience, sparing users from the tedious task of dragging and dropping views onto sheets individually.

Revising Sheet Elements: Jump directly to the sheet for editing elements associated with a specific drawing view. This feature allows you to: Define Layering: Specify the order in which elements appear within a 3D family for accurate visual representation.
Prevent Overlapping: Eliminate unwanted element overlaps for a clean and polished family appearance. Revit 2024 organizes your project parameters alphabetically, making them easier than ever to find: Quick Access: Locate the parameter you need instantly with the alphabetical order. Improved Efficiency: Minimize time spent searching for specific parameters, boosting your workflow. This handy tool lets you: Align Perfectly: Move elements horizontally or vertically based on the sheet grid or axes for precise positioning. Streamlined Workflow: Eliminate tedious manual alignment and ensure consistent element placement. Revit 2024 allows you to resize dialog boxes for comfortable viewing and interaction.
This feature is ideal for: Improved Accessibility: Work comfortably regardless of screen size or resolution. Better Readability: View dialog content clearly and without eye strain.
Dynamo for Revit 2. With improved search functionality that accounts for typographical errors and provides more relevant results, designers can quickly locate the specific nodes and packages they require, thereby saving time. This version also introduces enhanced package node identification and a more refined Python editor experience, among other upgrades. Revit Home Tech Preview and Dark Theme for Schedules The new Revit Home, currently in Tech Preview, introduces better navigation within Revit, while the dark theme for schedules and improved color conversion contribute to a user experience that is more consistent, comfortable, and conducive to extended work sessions.

For those of us who used to work in AutoCAD, not having a dark theme in Revit always took a while to get used to. We finally have a dark theme in Revit and it does very much seem worth the wait.
It has several options to really customize it. To turn it on, you will need to navigate to the File tab in the upper right and then select the Options button. There is a new tab in this property box named Colors.
In this tab, you will be able to set Dark Theme or Light Theme with the dropdown.
Create revision cloud schedules to better review and manage all the revision clouds in your project, and see which view or sheet they belong to. This way, you can easily see each revision in your project and make modifications, or directly edit the schedule fields if necessary. Link Coordination Models Visually cross-check between models of various disciplines and phases of a project. In 3D views, visually compare collaboration models created in Revit or other modeling tools for coordination purposes.
Clicking the Sun Settings button opens the traditional Sun Settings dialog with the same settings. In addition to project location and true north being set, the Sun Settings define where the sun is within Enscape. New visual style — Textures Revit has a new view style called Textures, which is a cross between shaded and realistic similar to the view style in SketchUp. It shows the appearance asset texture but without global lighting, so the materials are a consistent color on all surfaces and at all angles. Previously, the only way to see the texture was to turn on Realistic, which is way too slow, and that is what we have Enscape for! The site tools represent the most significant change for architects! We now have a toposolid command rather than a toposurface. As the name change implies, the ground is now represented by solid geometry rather than a 2D surface. Missing from the ribbon below is the Building Pad command. Instead, users will now create an in-place mass element that can have sloped edges or define a tunnel, and then use the Cut Geometry tool against it and the toposolid. One great thing about this for Enscape users is that slabs and walls must be cut from the toposolid. This means that there will never be grass inside the building coming through a floor slab or coming through a sidewalk again in Enscape. There are also opportunities to sweep profiles along the surface to create curbs, for example. Here is an in-place mass with a sloped edge. The old building pad option only resulted in vertical edges.

And maybe you want a water toposolid without any contours. In this example, the toposolid is cut to accommodate the foundation wall and footing. The volume of the toposolid accurately reflects the substraction of the these elements. This can be use to create curbs. You cannot use this tool on subdivisions, or on very complex shapes. If someone from Autodesk is reading: please fix this! It would be great to place the slab edges on sub-division. Meanwhile, you can use the railings tool to create curbs. Since toposolids are similar to floors, you can switch the composition entirely and have lakes, concrete pads, and other site components while keeping the original topography points. Be careful, though.
You can use them on the new toposolid category. In Revit 2024: You can use the same Graded Region tool on toposolid.
