В Японии и не только, во многих странах Азии визуальные новеллы любят и активно пишут, до недавнего времени жанр был населен исключительно анимешными персонажами, отличался обычно простым сюжетом порой с эротическим подтекстом и небольшим количеством выборов. Большинство таких новелл — это либо симулятор свиданий, либо что-то фэнтезийное, но, естественно, с обычной книгой это не сравнится. Но постепенно классическая визуальная новелла стала нарушать собственные же правила. Оказалось, что с помощью текста и картинок можно рассказывать интересные сюжеты это поняли уже в 1990-х, но на тот момент многие игроки не приняли новый жанр — серьезно, вы хотите, чтобы мы километровые тексты читали?
