The road is blocked by a wagon full of hay. A man is standing on the side of the road, weeping. If anyone stops to ask what is wrong, he will tell them that he has lost his donkey. A group of children are playing in the street.

Большая часть порталов представляет собой большое цветное пятно света, которое либо вообще не позволяет разглядеть, что находится на другой стороне, либо покажет размытые неясные образы. А вот по цвету портала зачастую как раз таки можно определить, на какой план существования он ведет. Ну и не забывайте о том, что многие порталы вообще нельзя определить визуально, они могут представлять собой каменную арку, обычную дверь, уже упомянутый мною фонтан, да что угодно. Что касается закрытия порталов, то здесь также не все так однозначно. Если вам требуется закрыть портал, то для этого может потребоваться простейшее действие, например временные порталы могут быть закрыты просто при перемещении через них какого-либо существа, а возможно придется применять магию, которая доступна только действительно могущественным волшебникам. В целом, справедлив следующий принцип — чем древнее портал, тем сложнее его закрыть. То же касается и применения магии для изменения характеристик портала, или его перемещения в другое место. Постоянные древние порталы порою не поддаются даже самой мощной магии, и для их закрытия потребуются легендарные артефакты, либо божественное вмешательство. Странник, как ты заметил, в своей истории я несколько раз упоминал город дверей Сигил и его госпожу Леди Боли. Ведь если темой обсуждения являются порталы, то ни в коем случае нельзя обойти вниманием Сигил, на территории которого сосредоточено несчетное число порталов практически в любое место вселенной. Общеизвестно, что все порталы находятся под контролем Леди Боли, и многие ученые считают, что она не только может создавать новые и закрывать любые порталы на территории города по своей воле, но и что именно Королева Клинков является создателем всех порталов и вообще всего Сигила. Впрочем эти сведения опровергаются многими источниками, согласно которым бог порталов Аоскар именуется создателем всех порталов в Сигиле и конструктором самого города дверей.
