Eiserman has committed to Boston University for the 2024-25 season and is expected to be a strong goal scorer at that level, especially if Celebrini returns to the NCAA and the two can light up the league together. Eiserman can play physically at times, but can sometimes get caught chasing hits and losing track of defensive coverage. Those are some absolutely absurd numbers. While he may not be the most reliable player when it comes to play driving or defensive results, he is the most reliable goal scorer in the draft and projects to be a near 40-goal scorer in the NHL someday. Pair him with your best playmaking center and watch him do the hardest thing there is in hockey, score goals. Petersburg KHL Ivan Demidov is an incredibly talented offensive player, with great hands, a zippy shot, and some sneaky-good playmaking instincts. One thing he and Michkov have in common is a difficulty earning serious minutes in the KHL as a draft eligible player. Demidov sat out many games to start the year and has played full time in the MHL ever since returning from an injury. He absolutely torched the MHL this year 2 points per game and has scored 19 points in just nine playoff games so far. Berkly Catton, C, Spokane Chiefs WHL Berkly Catton is a remarkably intelligent player, creating chances and advantages for his teammates through clever manipulations rather than through physical force. The Spokane Chiefs have a lack of high-end talent and Catton, the first overall pick from the 2021 WHL Draft, has been leaned upon heavily for the past two seasons. Luckily for the Chiefs, Catton has more than been up to the task this year, scoring points at an absurdly high rate. There are only four players on the Chiefs who scored more than 35 points on the season, and Catton led the team with 116! Catton was phenomenal for Team Canada at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup as well where he scored 10 points in just five games while captaining Canada to the gold medal. He is a very skilled player with a ton of speed and a high-end motor. While his lack of size may limit his draft stock among some NHL General Managers, I think his offensive versatility and his potential while attacking off the rush will make him a very early pick. Parekh is constantly involved on offense, pinching in along the boards when needed, and creating a ton of chances for himself and his teammates as a result. So why is he not rated higher? He cheats for offense a lot which can leave him way out of position. Parekh is a remarkable talent, with Quinn Hughes-like offensive upside if things go well, but the defensive end is in need of some real work. Yakemchuk has an enviable physical makeup as a right-shot defender who already measures at 6-foot-2, 194 pounds and he produces a ton of offense for the Calgary Hitmen. His offensive game is impressive for a defender of his size and his skating makes him even more intriguing as an NHL prospect. Yakemchuk has a rocket of a shot, scoring 19 goals last season, something that makes him a true goal scoring threat from the point. Helenius is level-headed under pressure and makes remarkable passes look routine, setting his teammates up for success. He was also good for Finland at the 2024 World Juniors in Sweden, though the stat sheet might not give you the best idea of how impactful he was. The biggest question with Helenius is if he has more skill to show. He has shown flashes of skill against his peers that make you think he could be a top-line player in the NHL, but then whenever he plays against men he plays a more reserved and safe game. Is he simply doing that in order to earn minutes as a young pro or does he not have enough skill to beat men? Buium has grown at least one inch since last season which bodes well for his draft stock since his biggest weakness at this point is his physical play. Luckily for Buium, he is an excellent skater and has plenty of hockey sense which allows him to defend incredibly well in the NCAA, and will likely help him in the NHL as well. He has good skill with the puck but his calling card will be his skating and sense which he uses to his advantage best on the rush both as a passer and a scoring threat.

Public rankings serve to provide insight into who the best players may be without considering how they will fit a certain team, the overall strategy based on the number of selections a particular team owns, and most importantly, whether a scouting director is willing to select players with a higher risk factor. The latter is believed to be a lock to play NHL minutes on the blue line while having a lower ceiling than Michkov, who fell due to factors unrelated to his on-ice play. Cristall was considered a high-risk player that many public rankings were high on due to his eye-popping totals and package of skills, but he fell in the draft because front offices are more risk-averse. A few players who appear on this list will likely be further down or off of various team lists. The job of the model and a public ranking is not to assess intangibles and predict what will happen in the draft; that is reserved for the mock draft.
Eiserman is an elite goal-scorer, likely the best in this draft class, and can play at high speeds which bodes well for transitioning to the NHL.
Eiserman came very close to breaking that record last season but came just shy with 69 in 62 games between the U17 and U18 teams. No rankings I looked at have him lower than third. He drives the offence, as evidenced by his 19 goals and 62 points through 41 games in the MHL last season. Once he finds some stability, the points will surely follow. With a December birthday, Demidov is on the older side of first-year-eligible draft prospects. That said, the wait could be worth it as he could end up being a top-line scorer at the NHL level.
NCAA Artyom Levshunov ranks anywhere in the four to six range, but I like him at the high end of that range, right after the big three. He skates well, can move the puck, and his shot is a real scoring threat. Levshunov currently has three goals and seven points through eight games. His skill set and ability to adapt could help him become a top-pair two-way defenceman at the NHL level. Last season he scored 23 goals and 55 points in 63 games, and so far this season, he has seven goals and 18 points through 12 games. Catton reads plays at a high level, has great speed, has the hands to play in tight spaces, and is reliable on the defensive side of the puck.

If development over the course of a season was not weighted, his player value would have him as a middle-round pick. With the development consideration, he was valued in the first half of the second round. Adjustments are made from viewings, as those are a critical portion of scouting. Importantly, there are no adjustments made for off-ice "intangibles" that are often discussed in team scouting meetings. Philosophically, a public ranking differs immensely from a team list.

If he has the puck and a teammate is close by with an attacker looking on, he will delay, draw the attacker to him and then pass to his teammate who is now open with a clear lane to the crease. Hemming has them all. He can be a juggernaut even against men in Liiga, able to use his speed, edge-work, pick-handling and size in conjunction to drop a shoulder and get past anyone. Even at 17 years old against men, Hemming has an incredible transition game.
His wrist-shot is lethal to boot, and he is able to pick a corner from anywhere on ice. While he has the size he rarely uses it, and plays on the perimeter. Defensively he gets lost far too often, and his consistency is also worrying, as even against his own age-group he can go missing for long stretches.
There is the upside for him to be a 30 goal scorer in the NHL if he can iron out these kinks. Boisvert will toe drag to get separation and then quickly make use of a passing lane. He has a great shot off of the rush and has found success sniping far side top shelf goals from low danger.
His dangling and toe drags have helped light the lamp in Muskegon regularly. Is this simply a case of the spotlight being so strong, for so long, that his weaknesses have been magnified? The answer is probably no.
There are legitimate concerns over his game. He is undersized, he is not the best skater, and early this season a knee injury that required surgery has put him out for four months. Kiviharju is expected to be healthy again in February.
However, in a league where top pairing defensemen are at a premium, if Kiviharju falls outside the first? There is the potential for one of the bigger draft steals in recent history. While there are concerns about his game the upside is inarguable.
His hockey IQ would be the envy of most NHLers, he is almost always two-steps ahead and rarely makes bad decisions. This, combined with fantastic vision, great passing and silky hands means he is great in transition, and controls play when set-up in the OZ. Defensively he has an active stick, good gap control, and thrives on breaking up plays before they develop.
He is also strong down low, even against players 15 years older and 50lbs heavier. His upside is still a 1 defenseman despite the concerns. Mews has excellent handling that he can ulitize to navigate through tight pressure to get separation before completing an outlet feed.
While he has had productive shifts where he pushed pace, there are shifts in which I see Mews will encounter pressure and pass into traffic instead of using his handling to open up an uncontested passing lane. Defensively, Mews will struggle with gap control from time to time and his defensive work could use further refinement, but when you to balance that with his distribution with the puck you are looking at a mid-to-late first round prospect. Although there may be something to this, Ritchie is still doing a lot of things very well.
I have a tough time seeing him falling out of round 1 as the season goes along. His feet and hands are ultra quick making him an exceptional puck carrier. If you give Ritchie time to pickup speed and attack defenders downhill, you will be sorry after he beats you, and secures middle ice.
Since the new year of this past season, Yakemchuk has really started to take strides, and his game continues to round itself out. Yakemchuk has a nice blend of size, skill, and aggressiveness that allow him to be a force all over the ice. His instincts are great, and he joins the rush when he feels he can contribute to the play.
He holds his own in the defensive zone with his size and ability to separate puck carriers from the puck to quick start offense the other way for his side. He plays a gritty grame and works the boards with great pressure shift in shift out. He is defensively responsible in transition and will put up a tough fight at open ice.
In the defensive zone, he will fall back to the low slot and provide support to his defensemen down low. Most of his MHL primary 5v5 points have come off of odd man rushes. His puck movement in transition is excellent.
His handling and distribution is excellent. He is shifty, mobile, agile and has tremendous speed. Basha does a good job of utilizing tight passing lanes to the slot.
He will grab possession of loose pucks off the boards, drive to the trapezoid and look to feather passes to the low slot. I could see Basha being a riser in the next of rankings. Josh Tessler 27 — Tanner Howe, F, Regina Tanner Howe plays a high-energy skilled game with a dogged off-puck game that allows him to play bigger than he is.

Physically, he is very raw. His confidence and hockey sense allow him to make up for his below-average puck skills. He manages gaps well and positions himself correctly more often than not. This combined with his smooth skating and willingness to engage physically gives him a solid foundation as a defensive defenseman. Sennecke is really creative and will try just about anything to make a play. Sennecke is a very competitive player on the forecheck.
He could have a big finish to his season if things start to click for him. A reliable and towering presence on the backend, Emery has shown great aptitude for being a shutdown defenseman; especially when it comes to defending the rush, his anticipation combined with his superior speed and size make him a tough wall to climb. But what sets him apart from the similarly styled members of his team is his play on the puck. He also has flashes of skill that indicate there may be more offence to show, but his lack of ice time so far leaves them as flashes. A lot of his points have come off of one-touch plays off the cycle, but the occasional off-the-boards play while protecting the puck shows the potential for more, especially with his 6-foot-2, almost 200-pound frame. A rifle of a shot and a knack for finding soft ice away from the puck allow Greentree to make the most out of his scoring chances. His playmaking shows up in flashes which follow his inconsistent scanning, and the skating holds him back from being able to jump into offensive zone transitions consistently, but the upside as a middle-six scoring winger with power-forward elements will likely see him go higher on draft day than we have him.
An exceptional skater who consistently explodes out of the defensive zone with the puck on his stick, Basha has been getting more and more comfortable jumpstarting those breakout opportunities with defensive mapping, anticipating play well and positioning himself proactively in his own zone. On the puck, there are some limiting factors. The upside if he can get his hands up to speed is interesting, but his versatility could see him become a bottom-six transition force with or without progression in that area. He shows flashes of a strong offensive defenseman, especially with his good hands and shot. Time will tell what kind of prospect Mews can be. If he puts everything together, he projects as an average-sized two-way defenseman who can play on a power play. He can play a fairly linear style, rarely using lateral movement and lane switches to create off the rush, preferring to delegate the bulk of the work in transition to his linemates while he crashes the slot.
His snapshot is a good tool, especially on the powerplay. While there may not be any top 6 upside in Beaudoin, we see a projectable and valuable potential bottom six-piece in Beaudoin, with PP and PK value. Hemming can be a lethal scoring threat as he excels at finding soft spots where he can utilize his shot. What sets Hemming apart from the top forward prospects right now is the lack of variety in his game in the offensive zone. He consistently opts for a shot in every situation, allowing opponents to anticipate his moves. He could elevate his offensive game to the next level by starting to pass the puck more and making his game a bit more unpredictable. He could also develop his game by exploring deceptive plays, as his current tendency to skate predictably between the blue line and right circle makes it easier for opponents to read his intentions and optimize their defensive approach.
The decision-making, however, keeps him out of our first round for the moment. Yakemchuck loves to activate in transition, often carrying the puck and relying on short and efficient passes to move the puck down the ice. His above-average skating is evident in the way he can move around the offensive zone, in particular on the powerplay, where he strives. That being said, with the good comes the bad with Yakemchuk. There have been a lot of inconsistencies in his game and tends to get tunnel vision when carrying the puck. In sustained pressure situations in the offensive zone, he often will shoot from all areas regardless of the quality of shot offered by his opponents. Furthermore, his defensive game as a whole needs quite a bit of refinement.
Yakemchuk has some gap control issues and gets away with his inefficient pivot mechanics by using his reach to break up plays. More often than not Hage can be found cheating for offence, falling behind on plays and struggling to think on his feet. However, the moments where things click are usually spectacular. Hage is an insanely talented dual-threat who has 1v5 jaw-dropping skill, but to stay in the first-round conversation, he will need to figure out how to tap into that skill more consistently. Not possessing an explosive stride, powerful shot, or dynamic style, Caswell makes his living as a shifty playmaker. He was among the most impressive defensive players not just forwards at the Hlinka-Gretzky in our viewings and has kept it up in league play in Finland. He has the makings of a future bottom-six and PK winger if his development trajectory continues at its current pace.
With the puck on his stick, Sahlin Wallenius makes quick decisions under single-variable pressure and uses his mobility, handling, and anticipation to solve problems. He has good situational awareness which has allowed him regular Liiga minutes as a defenseman which is always noteworthy for a draft eligible. His best tools are his shot and creativity in the offensive zone, especially during sustained pressure situations.

He creates magic on ice when he gets hold of the rubber disc. Ivan recently played 41 games in the MHL and scored whopping 62 points. He is ranked fourth top prospect by Consolidated Ranking and Daily Faceoff.
He was selected by the Spokane Chiefs with whom he has played 2 seasons. Catton started his junior career with the Saskatoon Minor Hockey Association. He was noticed by the scouts when he scored 58 goals in just 30 games with the U-15 Saskatoon Bandits. He competed for their under-16 team in 15 games. Catton has participated in 72 WHL games and has a record of 24 goals and 35 assists. His outstanding skating skills and a grip over the puck make him one of the top prospects. Cole Eiserman and Artyom Levshunov are ranked second and third respectively.
